I don’t want to get into predicting the future, but where is Vonage headed? After Verizon wins a US$58 million lawsuit and Vonage showing red on it’s financials. Here’s what Businessweek had to say about Vonage financials (get full article here), “For Vonage, profitability looks far-removed as well. While sales in the first nine months of 2005 more than doubled from all of 2004, its losses are mounting. Since its inception in 2001, Vonage has lost $310 million. In the nine months ended Sept. 30 alone, it lost $189.6 million on sales of $174 million.”

So can these VoIP based service providers really turn a profit? I guess time will tell; Vonage having to pay telco’s millions of dollars doesn’t help!
