Divyash,
You'll need to configure sip.conf, extensions.conf and voicemail.conf files. Sip.conf file is what will get your Asterisk configured to connect to SIP provider.

Nadeem,

How do I configure Asterisk for use with CBeyond? In other words, what file do I modify?

Thanks,
Divyash

Nadeem,

It had to do with something in the General settings. I got MOH to work. So far so good with the phone system.

I will keep posting here on my tests.

Thanks,
Divyash

Nadeem,

Upgrading to 6.0.664 worked. I can now put calls on hold but no music. It's probably something small. I'll be working with the AA and transfer features next. Any idea what the settings for Polycom IP 501 and 601 should be?

Thanks for your help.

Devo,
Have you tried putting callers on hold via the softphone? Calls should not drop, but I would suggest to try to narrow down the possibilities. Music on hold should work fine as long as it's enabled under general settings/other.
Also, be sure to upgrade to the latest version for 3CX which is 6.0.664.

Nadeem,

Thanks for the info. I was able to make inbound and outbound calls on CBeyond. So far, everything is working good. I am using Polycom 501'2. When I put a caller on hold, the call drops. Any ideas of what I can do to play music while the call is on hold. Also, I haven't tried transfers yet, will I have any problems. Any other feedback from your testing will be a great help.

Thanks,
Devo

Nadeem,

Thanks for your assistance. I will try this as soon as I can get CBeyond to let me test again. Prior, I would try and make a call to a number from my cell phone to a phone connected to the 3CX system and the Source ID error would come up on the system log along with a fast busy signal. I will report back either way.

Thanks,
Devo

Devo,
Under Manage VOIP/Gateway, Source Identification you have TO: HOST Part set to custom field with custome value of the URL for Sipconnect service? In our area this value is sipconnect.hou0.cbeyond.net.

I am trying to configure our 3CX server with CBeyond. When I make in-bound calls, I receive a message that states " Unidentified incoming call. Review INVITE and adjust source identification:" Any ideas of how we can solve this problem?

Thanks,
Devo
